>Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo: There were a total of 582 projects at this years show. Eight seniors and 1 junior exhibited four projects. All eight seniors competed in the HLS&R Job Fair. Chris Dodd won 1st place and Bryce Harmon won 3rd place in the job fair competition. Dustin Richter applied for a HLS&R Technical School Scholarship which included an application and interview process. Dustin was awarded a $9000.00 technical school scholarship. Dustin will be attending TSTC and majoring in Welding Technology. Results of the Ag Mechanic Project Show: Ag Machinery and Equipment Division: Class: Shop Tables - Tanner Moncus and Chris Dodd exhibited a 4' x 6' Shop Table receiving a Blue Ribbon. Built by Tanner Moncus, Drew Roberts & Robert Blue Gooseneck & Fifth Wheel Trailer Division: Class: Gooseneck & Fifth Wheel Flatbed, Lowboy & Utility Trailers - Tanner Moncus, Julz Johnson, Brit Kerr and Caleb Mendez exhibited a 24" Gooseneck Lowboy Flatbed Trailer earning a Blue Ribbon. Built by Tanner Moncus, Drew Roberts, Robert Blue, Brit Kerr, Caleb Mendez and a team of junior students. Bumper Pull Trailer Division: Class: Hay Haulers and Dump Bed Trailers All Lengths - Dustin Richter and Bryce Harmon exhibited a 24' 4 Round Bale Trailer earning a Blue Ribbon and placing 3rd overall in the class. Built by Dustin Richter, Bryce Harmon and Adelaide Hodnett and others. Livestock Equipment Division: Class: Livestock Feeders - Mike Martin and Nathan Necessary exhibited a Round Bale Hay Feeder earning a Blue Ribbon and
placing 4th overall in the class. Built by Mike Martin and Braxton Anderson. ​​ Prizes won by the job fair participants and placing projects calculated out to approximately $12,000.00 of prizes brought back to Bosqueville.

>Ag Mechanic Project show results: Wildlife Division: 12' Tri-Pod Deer Feeder placed 2nd in class, won Division Champion and  Reserve Grand Champion Overall Group Showmanship. 16' Tri-Pod Deer Feeder earned a blue ribbon. Trailer Division: 12' and Under Bumper Pull Trailers - 5' x 8' Utility Trailer  placed 1st in Class, Division Champion Trailer. Outdoor Cooking Division: Hexagon Fire Pit  placed 3rd in class. Backyard/Patio Fire Pit 1st in class, Reserve Division Champion. Farm Machinery Division: Miter Saw Table w/ outriggers won 3rd in class. Home Convenience Division: 7' Picnic Table placed 2nd in class. Overall the Bosqueville FFA Ag Mechanic Students won 1st in Sweepstakes earning a $500.00 gift certificate to Pioneer Steel and Pipe.
 


>October 1st Chelsea Nicholson, Amanda Bruner and Patrick Saucedo competed at the speaking contest. Chelsea placed 5th in the Agbusiness category, Patrick placed 6th in the Ag policy category and Amanda placed 7th in the Ag Policy category.  None of them made the finals but they all did an amazing job and will compete on October 18th at the State Fair! On October 8th and 9th Madi Howell competed in the HOT Simmental Heifer show and placed 1st in both the Jr and Jackpot shows.  On October 10th and 11th Adrianna Donaldson competed in the HOT swine show.  She placed 4th with her Duroc (red hog) in the Jackpot show and placed 1st in the Jr. Show.  She placed 3rd with her cross hog (black and white hog) in the jackpot show and 2nd in the junior show.
 


>Waco District Leadership Development Contest: Ag Advocacy placed 2nd and advanced to the area contest on Saturday at Robinson. Patrick Saucedo competed in Job Interview and placed 5th. Ian Smith competed in Sr. Creed and place 5th. Blake Moncus competed in Jr. Creed and placed 9th. Farm Radio placed 11th, members were Chelsea Connell, Ally Willis, and Chloe Reinke. Jr. Quiz team placed 5th members were Hunter Heath, Camryn James, Adrian Amaro, and Brenda Garcia. Sr. Quiz team place 5th members were Adelaide Hodnett, Dustin Richter, Ian Smith and Amanda Bruner. Sr. Chapter conducting placed 3rd, members were Dustin Richter, Dalton Zander, Robert Blue, Jose Rodriguez, Anna Donaldson, and Britt Kerr. Public Relations team placed 5th, members were Jaci Hoffmeyer, Mykenzie Frost, Sidney Bird and Adelaide Hodnett.

 

2016

China Spring Invitational LDE contest. 
Ag advocacy placed 4th. Members were Morgan Binner, Amanda Bruner, Alina Brown and Chelsea Nicholson.
Sr. Quiz placed 2nd.  Members were Amanda Bruner, Adelaide Hodnett, Dustin Richter and Patrick Saucedo.
JR. Quiz placed 5th. Members were Hunter Heath, Brenda Garcia, and Adrian Amaro.
Sr. Creed placed 9th.  Ian Smith competed in this.
Public Relations placed 7th. Members were Mykenzie Frost, Jaci Hoffmeyer, Sidney Bird and Madi Howell.
 


Chelsea Connell exhibited her 2 Brahman heifers at the HOT Fair and Rodeo. She placed 3rd with her young heifer and 5th with her older heifer in the junior show.  She placed in the top 10 in showmanship.  She placed 2nd in both the open show and the jackpot show with her young heifer.  And placed 6th in the open show with her older heifer and 4th in the jackpot show.  She did an amazing job representing Bosqueville.


Congrats to Adrianna Donaldson she caught a calf at the HOT calf scramble.  She will receive money to purchase a swine for next year's show.


Heart O' Texas Fair and Rodeo has come and gone. Bosqueville FFA members performed well and came out on top in several areas of the 2016 Show.
The Ag Mechanic Project show was held last Monday.
Results:
Wildlife Division: 12' Tri-Pod Deer Feeder built and exhibited by Brit Kerr and Caleb Mendez placed 2nd in class, won Division Champion and these young men won Reserve Grand Champion Overall Group Showmanship.
16' Tri-Pod Deer Feeder - built by Braxton Anderson & Mike Martin, exhibited by Braxton Anderson earned a blue ribbon.
Trailer Division:
12' and Under Bumper Pull Trailers - 5' x 8' Utility Trailer built and exhibited by Drew Roberts and Tanner Moncus placed 1st in Class, Division Champion Trailer.
Outdoor Cooking Division:
Hexagon Fire Pit - Built and Exhibited by Tanner Moncus, Robert Blue and Chris Dodd placed 3rd in class.
Backyard/Patio Fire Pit built and exhibited by Caden Carter 1st in class, Reserve Division Champion.
Farm Machinery Division:
Miter Saw Table w/ outriggers built and exhibited by Julz Johnson won 3rd in class.
Home Convenience Division:
7' Picnic Table built and shown by Chris Dodd placed 2nd in class.
Overall the Bosqueville FFA Ag Mechanic Students won 1st in Sweepstakes earning a $500.00 gift certificate to Pioneer Steel and Pipe.

Several students competed in the Calf Scramble over the past week as well.
On Wednesday night Berkley Cowan and Rebecca Garnica participated. Neither caught a calf but put out a great effort and sportsmanship.
On Thursday night Kaylee Martin, Maddi Howell and Summer Howard participated. All three young ladies worked very hard and each earned a hard luck certificate. These ladies each won a certificate to purchase a lamb for the 2017 HOT Fair Livestock Show.

 2015
McLennan County Livestock show:
Chelsea Connell placed 1st in her class and won Reserve Grand Champion Brahman.
Dustin Richter placed 5th with his market rabbits (making the Sale of Champions), he won Senior Showmanship and was reserve Grand Champion breeding Rabbits, he was also high point FFA member and High point overall.  He will exhibit his rabbits in Houston in March.
Kolby Clark and Britt Dominguez both exhibited their hogs, but came up just short of making the sale of champions.

 

San Antonio Livestock show and Rodeo:
Both Amanda Bruner and Ian Smith participated in the Speaking Contest, this contest is open to FFA members all across the state.  They both did an excellent job, but unfortunately did not make the finals round.  They will compete in March at the Houston Livestock show and Rodeo.
Chelsea Connell competed in the Brahman heifer show, she placed 11th out of 16 heifers.  She will exhibit her heifer in Houston in March.

 

Bosqueville FFA Chapter exhibited Ag Mechanic Projects at the San Angelo Ag Mechanic Project Show. There were a total of 393 entries in the show. Our students represented Bosqueville well exhibiting 8 projects and earning 8 Blue Ribbons. A blue ribbon quality projects means that the student constructed and presented excellent quality.

Upright Smoker/Cooker - Exhibited by Dustin Richter, Bryce Harmon, Bryce Patterson earning a blue ribbon.
Diamond Plate Pickup Toolbox - Exhibited by Bryce Campbell earning a blue ribbon.
Bar Height Antique Door Table w/ Stools - Exhibited by Coty Millsap earning a blue ribbon and winning 3rd place overall in class. Coty also won $35.00 in prizes.
16' Flatbed Utility Trailer - Exhibited by Noli Park. Noli earned a blue ribbon and won individual showmanship overall. She also won $800.00 in prizes.
18' Flatbed Utility Trailer - Exhibited by Tristan Cale & Kenton Hill. They earned a blue ribbon and 2nd overall in class out of 26 entries winning $40.00 in prizes.
14' Welding/Service Trailer - Exhibited by Kade Kosar & Kaleb Gordon. They earned a blue ribbon and 2nd in class overall out of 22 entries winning $40.00 in prizes.

 
Members of the Bosqueville FFA exhibited Ag Mechanic Projects in the McLennan County Ag Mechanic Project Show on Friday February 12th. These students have worked very hard to plan, construct and finish various projects throughout the year thus far. This was the 1st Ag Mechanic Project Show held in conjunction with the McLennan County Jr. Livestock Show. A total of 40 projects were exhibited from across McLennan County. Bosqueville FFA had 17 of those 40 projects. We were very fortunate to have Pioneer Steel & Pipe, DuPuy Oxygen, McCoys, and Callan Equipment as award sponsors for the show. Thanks to those parents and administrators who were able to attend the show and support our members exhibiting projects.

              18' Flatbed Utility Trailer exhibited by Tristan Cale & Kenton Hill earned a Blue ribbon, 1st in Class & Reserve Division Winner. They were also chosen as the Overall Reserve Grand Champion Showman winning $315.00 in prizes.
 
Class 27: Other Trailers
               14' Welding/Service Trailer exhibited by Kaleb Gordon & Kade Kosar earned a blue ribbon, 1st in Class, Division Champion & Overall Grand Champion of the Show winning $975.00 in prizes.
 
 
Bosqueville FFA went on to win 1st Place in Overall Sweepstakes winning a banner and $150.00 Gift Certificate from Pioneer Steel & Pipe.
 
All together these students won 3 Division Champions, 4 Reserve Division Champions, Overall Grand Champion of Show & Overall Grand and Reserve Grand Champion Showmanship. Total prize winning amount was $2,585.00.

Thirteen members of the Bosqueville FFA Chapter exhibited Ag Mechanic projects at the San Antonio Livestock Exposition this past weekend. There were a total of 574 projects shown by over 1200 FFA & 4-H members from 186 schools across the state of Texas. These students had a great weekend. They were exhibiting their respective project on their feet from 8:00 a.m. Saturday morning until 7:00 p.m. Saturday night.  We earned 8 blue ribbons out of 8 projects.

16' Utility Flatbed Trailer shown by Noli Park earned a blue ribbon, placed 4th overall in class out of 32 entries.
18' Flatbed Utility Trailer shown by Tristan Cale, Kenton Hill & Trenton Walts earned a blue ribbon, placed 3rd overall in class out of 26 entries.
The two trailer projects that placed in class won $400.00 combined in gift certificates to Airgas.
 
On Saturday March 5th the Floriculture team and the Nursery/Landscape teams competed at the Houston Livestock show and rodeo.  The Floriculture team placed 42nd out of 92 teams, the team included Juliana Bisson, Alina Brown, Mykenzie Frost and Amanda Bruner.  
 
The Nursery/Landscape team placed 27th out of 43 teams, members included Serra Bardin, Nicole Shomali, and Kaylee Martin.
 
On Sunday March 13th Chelsea Connell exhibited her heifer and placed 7th out of 17 exhibitors.
 
Noli Park, Tristan Cale and Kenton Hill interviewed with an Ag Mechanics Scholarship Committee on Saturday. These interviews were achieved through a scholarship application process. During awards on Sunday both Noli Park and Tristan Cale each received a $9000.00 Technical School Scholarship.
 
Noli Park, Tristan Cale, Kenton Hill, Kaleb Gordon, Kade Kosar, Trenton Walts, and Bryce Campbell competed in the HLSR Ag Mechanic Job Fair on Saturday. Kaleb Gordon placed 3rd overall all winning approximately $1800.00 in prizes while Noli Park tied with Kaleb winning 4th place and receiving approximately $1200.00 in prizes.
 
Kenton Hill, Tristan Cale & Trenton Walts exhibited an 18' Flatbed Utility Trailer earning a blue ribbon.
Tristan Cale and Bryce Campbell exhibited a 6' x 10' Flatbed Utility Trailer earning a blue ribbon and 6th overall in class out of approximately 40 other trailers.
Noli Park exhibited a 16' Flatbed Utility Trailer earning a blue ribbon.
Bryce Campbell exhibited a Diamond Plate Pickup Toolbox earning a blue ribbon.
Kade Kosar and Kaleb Gordon exhibited a 14' Welding/Service Trailer earning a red ribbon.

Judging contest at SFA results
Entomology placed 23rd out of 36 teams (a team consists of 3 people unfortunately we only had 2 that were able to attend).  Whitley Sepulveda placed 43rd and Noli Park placed 52nd out of 117 people.
 
Poultry placed 15th out of 61 teams.  Chelsea Nicholson was 52nd, Dalton Zander we 65th, Morgan Binner was 77th and Alley Neagle was 94th place out of 188 individuals.
 
Nursery/Landscape placed 20th out of 39 teams.  Serra Bardin placed 37th, Nicol Shomali placed 84th and Kaylee Martin placed 115th out of 122 individuals.
 
Floriculture placed 57th out of 85 teams with only 2 members (a team is 3 members).  Juliana Bisson placed 80th and Amanda Bruner placed 166th out of 287 individuals. 
 
Farm Business Management placed 25th out of 31 teams with only 2 members (3 members is a full team)  Dustin Richter placed 64th and Ian Smith placed 85th out of 95 individuals.  
 

Area Competition at Tarleton State University.  Unfortunatley none of the teams made state, top 5 for all teams except ag mech only takes top 3, but they all improved on their scores!  We are very proud of all the hard work they have put in this year!
 
Ag Mechanics--tied for 6th place out of 18 teams
Team members included Kenton Hill who was in the top 20 placing 18th, Kaleb Gordon, Kade Kosar and Tristan Cale.
 
Entomology placed 6th out of 24 teams
Team members included: Garrett Meske who was in the top 10 placing 8th, Noli Park, and Whitley Sepulveda.
 
Floriculture placed 7th out of 34 teams. 
Team members included: Mykenzie Frost, Juliana Bisson, Alina Brown, and Amanda Bruner.
 
Farm Business Management placed 10th out of 14 teams.
Team members were Alex Hankhouse, Dustin Richter, and Ian Smith.
 
Nursery/Landscape placed 12th out of 16 teams.
Team members were Serra Bardin who was in the top 20 placing 18th, Nicol Shomali, and Kaylee Martin.
 
Poultry placed 8th out of 34 teams.
Team members were Chelsea Nicholson who was in the top 10 placing 7th, Dalton Zander, Morgan Binner and Alley Neagle.
 
Vet Tech placed 30th out of 40 teams.

Dustin Richter elected to an Area VIII FFA Officer Candidate. Area VIII Convention will be held on May 14th.
Dalton Zander elected as the 2016-17 Waco District FFA Reporter.
Patrick Saucedo elected as the 2016-2017 Waco District FFA Jr. Advisor
Amanda Bruner placed 2nd in Senior Prepared Public Speaking at Waco District FFA Convention advancing to area competition on May 14th.
Texas FFA State Food Science & Technology CDE Team of Dalton Zander, Dustin Richter, Brit Dominguez & Morgan Binner placed 7th overall.
Tristan Cale and Noli Park each received a $9000.00 Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo Technical School Scholarship.
Kaleb Gordon and Noli Park tied for 3rd in the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo Job Fair winning over $2000.00 in prizes combined.
